APO and Eco-products
Since 1994, the APO has actively promoted eco-products under its Green Productivity (GP) Program. The APO's GP Program has two flagship projects: the annual Eco-products International Fair (EPIF) and development of the APO Eco-products Directory and Eco-products Database, which are conducted with the cooperation of the GP Advisory Committee (GPAC) comprising representatives of leading Japanese corporations with years of experience in managing environmental issues.
EPIFs
The EPIFs are the largest environmental fairs in Asia and showcase the most advanced environmentally friendly products, technologies, and services that enhance sustainable development and competitiveness. The APO, supported by the GPAC, has organized the EPIFs since 2004 to provide a platform to raise environmental awareness, encourage greening of supply chains, support growing green markets, and involve the public in creating a better environment through the use of eco-products, eco-technologies, and eco-services. → Click below for more on the EPIFs.
Eco-products Directory and Eco-products Database
The Eco-products Directory is a comprehensive listing of environmentally friendly products and services offered by companies and organizations within the Asia-Pacific region. Published every year under the guidance of experts led by Emeritus Professor Ryoichi Yamamoto, this directory aims to contribute to more sustainable development in the Asia-Pacific region by promoting the concept of green purchasing and introducing various eco-products and eco-services to market players, consumers, and government officials.
The Eco-products Directory 2012 is the eighth and the latest edition of this unique publication, showcasing 900 green products and services developed by enterprises in the Asia-Pacific designed to help minimize impacts on the environment and mitigate the effects of global warming. The Eco-products Directory 2012 is currently available in hard copy and e-book (CD-ROM) formats.

The Eco-products Database was launched in October 2010 as an online listing of products and services developed and designed in the Asia-Pacific region to help minimize impacts on the environment and mitigate the effects of global warming. This database provides users with a web-based, easy-to-access portal for viewing information on environmentally friendly products and services, which are showcased in the annual Eco-products Directory. Currently, this database compiles information on the products and services listed in the Eco-products Directory 2012.
