APO Secretary-General Dr. Indra (R) and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary H.E. Mukhsinkhuja Abdurakhmonov, Republic of Uzbekistan.
H.E. Mukhsinkhuja Abdurakhmonov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uzbekistan to Japan, called on Asian Productivity Organization (APO) Secretary-General Dr. Indra Pradana Singawinata on 4 August at the Secretariat in Tokyo. He was accompanied by Counsellor for Private Business Development Djakhangir Turgunov.
The meeting began with Secretary-General Dr. Indra expressing appreciation to Ambassador Abdurakhmonov for his interest in the APO. The courtesy visit provided an opportunity to introduce the main activities of the APO and discuss ideas for future collaboration with Uzbekistan. Ambassador Abdurakhmonov thanked the Secretary-General for the warm welcome and shared the current economic situation of Uzbekistan.
Ambassador Abdurakhmonov highlighted the government’s focus on supporting and developing SMEs. Since Uzbekistan has a vast variety of developing industries, especially in the agriculture and IT sectors, he appreciated the APO’s broad coverage encompassing not only manufacturing but also the agriculture, service, and public sectors through projects to address the diverse, evolving needs of members.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Secretary-General Dr. Indra expressed appreciation to Ambassador Abdurakhmonov for sharing information and exchanging ideas on areas to support productivity growth in Uzbekistan. Ambassador Abdurakhmonov hoped that he and Secretary-General Dr. Indra could continue future exchanges.
