Chapter 13 of the recent Japan Productivity Center (JPC) publication titled Global Warming and the Green Economy comprises a panel discussion on ethical consumption.
APO Industry Department Director Setsuko Miyakawa, one of the panel members, introduced GP activities such as projects related to corporate social responsibility, the Eco-products International Fairs, and Eco-products Directory as efforts to make to greener consumption easier for the public, businesses, and government agencies.
The 219-page Japanese-language publication also covers the main topics discussed at the Rio+20 UN Conference on Sustainable Development, ways to spread the green economy, carbon offsetting, renewable energy, and other areas of current interest. Twelve chapters were contributed by experts in various areas, with a foreword by University of Tokyo Professor Emeritus Ryoichi Yamamoto, who serves as a vice chair of the APO’s Green Productivity (GP) Advisory Committee.
