The Malaysia Productivity Corporation and APO Secretariat organized an online workshop on Regulatory Sandbox Mechanisms for Productivity Policies, 17–19 July. The workshop focused on promoting innovation through controlled regulatory experimentation, particularly in digital and fintech sectors.

Thirty-seven participants from 12 APO members and four international resource persons from France, Indonesia, the ROK, and Thailand covered key topics such as comparative analysis of global regulatory sandboxes, successful sandbox implementation, legal and regulatory considerations, and policies for regulatory experimentation.

Participants gained valuable insights into designing and applying regulatory sandbox frameworks to enhance productivity policies. The National Technology and Innovation Sandbox in Malaysia expressed interest in further developing its initiatives based on workshop learning points.
