The Asia-Pacific region accounts for more than 45% of the world’s youth. With global youth unemployment on the rise, greater inclusion of young people in the labor force is therefore critical.
Dr. Akira Murata will discuss effective policies to enhance youth participation in productive economic activities. Highlights will include equipping young people with skills matching labor market needs, ensuring equal opportunities for the disadvantaged, creating socioeconomic environment to increase youth’s employability, and private sector’s role in facilitating school-to-work transitions and industrial skill training.
