In advanced economies including the USA, UK, and Japan, the service and the digital economy (SDE) constitutes over 70% of annual GDP. Manufacturing is undoubtedly essential, but the biggest contributor to GDP is the SDE.

In this APO Top Talk, Dean of the Asian Development Bank Institute (ADBI) Dr. Tetsushi Sonobe will describe how productivity in the SDE will be critical to sustain the economic competitiveness of APO members on the heels of the post-COVID-19 pandemic recovery, with FTPI Executive Director Dr. Phanit Laosirirat as a moderator.
