Asian Productivity Organization (APO) Secretary-General Dr. Indra Pradana Singawinata paid a courtesy call on APO Director for Japan Kazuya Endo, Director-General of the International Cooperation Bureau and Assistant Minister, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in Tokyo, 28 September 2022.
During the meeting, Director Endo warmly welcomed and congratulated Dr. Indra on his appointment as the 13th Secretary-General of the APO. While recognizing the long, valuable history of the APO, Secretary-General Indra and Director Endo concurred on the importance of enhanced transparency and good governance in Secretariat operations.
Director Endo stated that the pandemic had made the global community realize anew the importance of productivity enhancement, and it would be crucial for the APO to play a significant role to address that at this important juncture. Echoing the view of Director Endo, Secretary-General Indra pledged to involve relevant internal/external parties in implementing effective projects with tangible outcomes by addressing the critical needs of APO member economies.
Director Endo and Secretary-General Indra firmly agreed to remain in close communication and cooperate to maximize the effectiveness and benefits of the APO.
