In this APO Productivity Talk, economist Dr. Biswo Poudel will share insights on the growth of SMEs, their impact on meeting the sustainable development goals (SDGs) by a mid-sized country like Nepal, and the threat to their immediate survival and long-term sustainability from unanticipated shocks such as COVID-19 and anticipated ones such as rapid automation of industries within the foreseeable future. Poudel will also discuss the impact of such transformations on meeting the SDGs.
