The NPO Bangladesh organized a face-to-face workshop on Sustainable Food Systems (SFSs) in Dhaka, Bangladesh, from 20–23 January. The objectives were to understand SFSs, including elements, approaches, and evolving paradigms, share best practices for SFSs, and explore strategies to support APO members in preventing and mitigating risks from food system changes and overall food system transformation.
Twenty participants from 13 APO members attended, along with four resource persons, one from Bangladesh, two from Japan, and one from the USA. During the site visit to the CCDB Climate Change Center, participants had the opportunity to see cost effective technologies for mitigation and adaptation, which deeply impressed them. At the end of the workshop, participants gave presentations on what they had learned and solutions in response to challenges faced by their economies to promote SFSs.
