The APO Secretariat and National Productivity Centre of Cambodia organized a face-to-face training course on Blockchain Technology Application in e-Government, 5–9 August. The course introduced blockchain applications in the public sector for more secure, agile, cost-effective structures while boosting trust and accountability. It covered the fundamentals of blockchain technology and its applications in e-government.
Twenty-three individuals from nine APO members attended the training course to gain the skills and competencies to utilize blockchain-driven solutions in e-government systems. Resource persons from Cambodia, India, and Singapore spoke on topics such as fundamentals of blockchain technology, blockchain architecture and components, legal and regulatory frameworks for blockchains, and measuring the impact of blockchain technology applications in the public sector. The sessions were accompanied by group discussions and hands-on exercises.
Participants expressed satisfaction with the relevancy of the project to their roles in the public sector. They were confident that the knowledge and skills gained from the project could enhance their performance in their professional roles.
