The Asian Productivity Organization (APO) and Vietnam National Productivity Institute (VNPI) announced that the 11th Eco-products International Fair (EPIF) will be hosted in Ho Chi Minh City, 11–13 May 2017. The EPIF, the largest international environmental fair in Asia, is being jointly organized along with the Vietnam Environment Administration and Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center.
The EPIF 2017 will showcase state-of-the-art environmental technologies from across Asia, Europe, and the USA and provide opportunities for industry players to explore business collaborations, while promoting public awareness of the wide array of environmentally friendly products and services now available in the market. Sharing details of the EPIF 2017, VNPI Director Nguyen Anh Tuan explained that the 2017 event would focus on the theme Green Technologies and Products: Action for the Future. He also highlighted that it was a great opportunity for the APO member countries as well as the other more advanced nations to showcase newer and sustainable technologies and products.
“The EPIF 2017 theme is aimed at expanding green growth initiatives by both the public and private sectors in Vietnam and global economies and will serve as a platform to bring together government entities, businesses, private organizations, and the general public on a single platform to talk about a low-carbon society. The exhibition and conference will help us create opportunities for domestic experts to exchange and develop strategies and help identify needs and major activities to promote green production in Vietnam and the region,” added APO Secretariat Industry Department Director Hikaru Horiguchi.
Horiguchi further explained that, “While the EPIF 2017 exhibition will facilitate green business collaborations between regional and international industries and government agencies, the parallel conference and workshop sessions will provide opportunities for deliberations and brainstorming by stakeholders on how APO member economies can collaborate and jointly work toward achieving the Fourth Industrial Revolution and develop sustainable societies.” He pointed out that, “The EPIF and related activities are designed to create and expand business opportunities that will show immediate benefit while accelerating the diffusion of eco-knowledge and expanding green markets in the APO region and ultimately worldwide to create a sustainable global society.”
The parallel conference and workshop sessions at the EPIF 2017 are supported by Vietnam’s Ministry of Science and Technology and Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment; People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City; Directorate for Standards, Metrology and Quality; and the Green Productivity Advisory Committee. This is the second time for Vietnam to host the event, after the 2008 EPIF in Hanoi.
