| The Islamic Republic of Iran joined the APO in 1965, suspended its membership in 1979, and reactivated its membership in 1985. The National Productivity Organization of IR Iran (NPO of IR Iran) was established in 1992 under the supervision of the Deputy for Training and Research of the Ministry of Heavy Industries and is at present under the Administrative and Recruitment Organization of Iran.
