| Formerly known as the Department of SME Promotion (DOSMEP), the NPO of Lao PDR changed its name to the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise Promotion Agency (MSMEPA) on 15 November 2023.
MSMEPA, a technical organization, holds the status of a ministerial department and operates under the Ministry of Industry and Commerce. Its primary role is to act as the executive body for MSME promotion. The agency is comprised of seven divisions, including the MSME Promotion Fund.
