Empowering the Female Rural Workforce

The rural economy is sustained by the female workforce. But in reality, women often face obstacles to workforce entry and disadvantages compared with men. Empowering the female rural workforce is an important issue in promoting productivity and women’s participation in rural society. Executive Director Savitri Singh, National Centre for Cooperative Education, National Cooperative Union of India, examines this issue and discusses ways to empower the female rural workforce.
