Vision 2025 is the strategic plan of the APO for 2021–2025. The various components of Vision 2025 represent the collective ownership of APO members and their renewed commitment to improving productivity with support from the APO. They will also steer the implementation of programs for member economies.
The mission of the APO, as defined at its founding, is to “contribute to the sustainable socioeconomic development of Asia and the Pacific through enhancing productivity.” In light of today’s challenges and opportunities, the new Vision 2025 to accompany its mission includes:
“Inclusive, innovation-led productivity growth in the Asia-Pacific”
This vision has three goals: sustained productivity growth; robust innovation systems; and inclusive engagement and shared prosperity. Each of these goals has associated key result areas (KRAs), which serve as tangible, easy-to-track subgoals that can be cascaded down to the program level. There are also seven strategic thrusts that will enable the APO to achieve this vision. For each strategic thrust, there are supporting strategies to guide the program plans. For more information on how these strategic thrusts translate to the program level, please see the APO’s focus areas.
